Walter Thomas ("Bud") Daniel

Walter "Bud" Daniel died after a courageous battle with cancer in his home with his loving wife Virginia "Ginger" present.

He was born in Mansfield, Texas; grew up in Eunice, New Mexico; served in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Bremerton; had a barbershop in Lubbock, Texas, for many years; moved to Sacramento, California, 27 years ago; was a truck driver for ten years; and went back to being a barber. His last barber shop was Sal's in Fair Oaks, California.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Curtis of Seminole, Texas, and James of Redding, California; his sisters: Emma Hubbard of Jayton, Texas, and Joyce Lee of Lubbock, Texas; and his daughter Sharon Ferris of San Jose, California.

He leaves his former wife Mahona of Bedford, Texas; son Clayton of Bedford, Texas, and daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Gary Kramer of Kansas City, Kansas; and his sisters Ima Ewing of Lubbock, Texas, Patsy Heim of Danville, California, Inez Wiest of Eagle Point, Oregon, and brother Ben of Sun City, Arkansas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a stepdaughter Tima and husband Wayne Halterman.

Bud square danced, sang in the church choir, loved football and all sports, and was a member of VFW Post 4647. He will be dearly missed and we will miss his humor.
A Memorial Service was held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 2300 Edison Avenue, on Sunday, November 2, 2003.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kaiser Hospice, or to the Alzheimer's Aid Society.
