He leaves a wife, five boys, and three girls. Two boys and two girls are married: J.Z. and A.I. of Gilliland, and Mrs. Jessie Machen and Mrs. Minnie Wood of Vera. Two boys and one girl at home, and one boy H.M. Baird in the U.S. Navy. They were all present at his death except the one in the Navy.
Mr. Baird came from Alabama to Hill County(TX) in Feb. 1902 where he resided for four years. From there he moved to Baylor county and lived three miles west of Seymour for two years. From there he bought a home one mile west of Gilliland, Knox county, where the family now resides.
Mr. Baird was a good man and did what was right in the sight of God and man. He enjoyed the good will of Baylor county citizens, who learn with much sorrow of his death. His disease was cykoma. The struggle he made to live was a long and heroic one, but when the end came he was not afraid to go. The Baylor County Banner joins all in sympathy for the bereaved family.
