He attended public schools in Alliance, Nebraska and served in the U.S. Army Engineers in the Pacific and Japan in World War II. In 1947 he and his brother, Douglas both
entered the University of Nebraska where he married Gloria McCullough(#32890472) in October of 1948.
They were the parents of the following children:
