Carol died on January 9, 2009. She resided at 3009 East Louise Avenue (2920 South) in East Millcreek, Utah at the time of her death.


She was born April 25, 1918 in Holladay, Utah to Raymond and Carrie Christensen Andrus.


Her husband Glen Hartle preceded her in death in October 1985 after nearly 50 years of marriage.


She spent many memorable years in Holladay with eight brothers and sisters and many aunts, uncles and cousins and never far from the shadow of beautiful Mount Olympus. Family, friends and music have always been very important in her life. Her years spent in the Canyon Rim area were among the happiest.


She is survived by two daughters; Kay (Paul) Smith of Salt Lake City, Jill Hartle of Pacifica, CA and two sons; Ray and Jeff of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Gary (Shirlene) Andrus of Soldotna, AK and two sisters, Gwen Pierce and Bev Handy of Holladay, UT. Preceded in death by her parents and five brothers; Don, Kirk, Bud, Niles and Steele.


Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday evening, January 14, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary and from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at Holbrook Mortuary.
Interment: Holladay Memorial Park.
