COMMERCE — Patricia Belcher died Jan. 8, 2009, at her home in Commerce following a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Commerce with Johnnie Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City under the direction of Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home in Commerce. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.Patricia was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Petty to William D. and Nunie McManus Haddock. She married Daryle Belcher on Nov. 2, 1959, in Hunt County. Patricia was employed for 25 years by Haggar Manufacturing Company. After receiving her Level III Professional Secretary Certificate, she joined the staff at A.C. Williams on Aug. 1, 1991, and worked as the principal's administrative assistant until her death. Patricia was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce and the Adult IV Sunday School Class.Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Belcher of Cooper; granddaughters Brittany Belcher of Forney and Michelle and Megan Belcher of Cooper; sisters Margaret Haddock Clinton, Oleta Haddock Arrington and husband Harold of Commerce, Oretha Haddock Campbell of San Marcos and Nelda Haddock Brunson and husband Curtis of Fate; a brother, W.D. Haddock and wife Peggy of Fairview; and many nieces and nephews.Patricia was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Helen Haddock Harris and Shirley Haddock Speight; and half brother Marvin Haddock.Pallbearers will be Dale Campbell, Brad Arrington, Steve Speight, Gary Don Ferrell, Don Young and John Bryan.
