COMMERCE — Daryle Belcher died Nov. 3, 2008, at his home in Commerce following a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Commerce with Rev. Johnnie Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City under the direction of Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home in Commerce.Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.Daryle was born Aug. 28, 1942, in Wolfe City, the son of Sanford L. and Elsie McKay Belcher. He married Patricia Haddock on Nov. 2, 1959, in Hunt County. Daryle retired from Commerce Automatic Gas Company on July 14, 2006, with 24 years of service. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce, the Adult IV Sunday School Class and the Commerce Lions Club.Surviving are his wife of Commerce; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Belcher of Cooper; granddaughters Brittany Belcher of Forney and Michelle and Megan Belcher of Cooper; brothers Sanford L. Belcher Jr. of Commerce and Grady Doyle Belcher and David Belcher of Denison; and sisters Pauline Taylor of Mineola and Janice Taylor of Plano.Daryle was preceded in death by his parents; brother Roy Lee Belcher and James Belcher and Richard Belcher, a World War II casualty.Pallbearers will be Hubert McKay, Harold Arrington, Sidney Stewart, Jack Stewart, Tom Scroggins and Second McQuary.
