Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruby Hill Mackey, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 7, 2009 of natural causes. She resided at 4675 West 4775 South in the Hoffman Heights neighborhood of Kearns, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born June 22, 1924 in Malad, Idaho to William Martin and Ruth Abigail Sparks Hill.

She married her sweetheart, Howard Guy Mackey, on September 8, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was college educated, held many church positions in her lifetime, and enjoyed doing genealogy and family history after her retirement.

Ruby had a quick wit about herself and a fun sense of humor. She made us laugh. She never said an unkind thing about anyone.

She was a quiet, sweet, patient, accepting person who made you feel welcome. She served an LDS mission. Her family and the LDS Church were her whole life.

Ruby is survived by her three children: Owen (Tani) Mackey, Sandy, Utah; Eloise (Thomas) Timms, Kearns, Utah; Ola (Robin) Miley, Big Piney, Wyoming; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband; three brothers; one sister.

What a family reunion she is having with her family in heaven!

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in the Kearns Sixteenth Ward Chapel, 4731 South 4300 West. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), and Monday at the Church from 11:00-11:45 a.m.
