Chas. A. Pringle's Body Found, Buried Wednesday

The body of Chas. Pringle, Smoot resident who was drowned on June 1st when the car in which he was ridding with W.W. Hunsaker, Walter Potter and Don Baldwin left the highway on the Blue Trail in the Grand Canyon of Snake River and rolled down the 287 foot embankment into the river, was recovered Monday.
An unidentified tourist who was fishing found the body lodged in debris in a whirlpool a half mile below the point of the accident. He notified deputy sheriff L.J. Jensen, who, assisted by Dell Taysom, Frank Bruce A.D and W. W Hunsaker, Bill and Charles Parsons and Harvey Crook, recovered it.
It is believed that Mr Pringle struck his head during the fall and was stunned and unable to swim out as the others did. The river has been at flood level until just recently.
Mr Prin gle was the second son of Hyrum and Sophronia Pringle of Diamondville, Wyoming. He came to Star Valley about 1914 and was employed by his uncle, Chas. Peterson. He was a member of the armed forces during the first World War.

The oldest son, Hyrum Pringle of the Army Air Corps, was lost in action in World War II when a B-29 in which he was a crew member was lost during a raid on Japan.
