Following a lingering illness of about six months, George E. Pringle, 56, of Oakley, respected pioneer resident of the Kemmerer district, died last Friday at the LCM hospital, where he had been in confinement for about two and one-half months. He underwent an operation in a SLC hospital, the latter part of April, and was forced to remain there some time before he was permitted to return to Kemmerer.
George Ernest Pringle was born October 8, 1885 at Coalville, Utah, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Pringle and on May 28, 1907 was married to Phoebe Stonebraker of Coalville. Being a coal miner by occupation, he came to this district about 1916, being employed in the mines here up until he became ill last April.
Left to survive him are his wife; three daughters: Mrs. Ralph Kintz of Gillette, Wyoming; Mrs. Harvey Bird of Provo and Mrs. Roy Wainwright of Kemmerer; one son, George Ernest, Jr., who is employed at Provo, Utah; four brothers, Jack and William of Ogden, Charles of Smoot, Wyoming, and Joseph of the Philippine Islands, the latter being the only one unable to attend the funeral.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. from the LDS Church in Diamondville. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
