Resident Held in Superior
Mrs. Bert Bricka, a Superior resident for many years, died at the Brodstone Hospital in Superior Saturday, Jan. 5 at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 12 days.
Mrs. Bricka, the former Winona Ellen Rhoads, was born in Piatt County, Ill., Oct. 24, 1882. She was the daughter of Catherine Harrell Rhoads and Jacob Allen Rhoads.
She came with her parent to Edgar in 1888 and spent her girlhood days there. On April 4, 1901, she was united in marriage to Bert Bricka in Edgar. To this union six children were born. Her husband, one son, Maurice, and one daughter, Marietta, preceded her in death.
Surviving her are her son, Howard A. of Palmdale, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Cecil Clark [Freda] of Formosa, Kan., Mrs. Marie Faye of Superior, Mrs. Melvin Jacobitz [Justine] of Columbus, Nebr., five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at the Megrue Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Floyd Hadsell officiating and burial in Evergreen cemetery. --Superior Express
