Allen married in January 1966. They had five children: one daughter and four sons. At the time of his death, Allen had three granddaughters. The family has grown since his death, adding more grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Allen worked as a computer aided drafter as a troubleshooter for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, serving during the Vietnam years.

Allen had many hobbies during his life, including woodworking, various crafts, drawing, painting, origami, reading, and gaming. He enjoyed many types of music including jazz.

Allen was devoted to his family and worked hard to provide for everyone. He is missed by all.
