Diana earned a nursing degree and worked as an RN. She loved animals and always had one or more animal companions in her home throughout her life. She enjoyed watching dog shows, nature shows, and British television (especially comedies). She loved arts and crafts and she practiced knitting, needlework, sewing, ceramics, and painting. She was always reading a variety of good books and studied a variety of topics; reading books was a lifelong interest. When she was in elementary school, she complained to the principal that she had read all the books in the school library and there was nothing left for her to read.
Diana had a wealth of knowledge for anyone who asked for her help, advice, or just information on almost any topic. She was extremely knowledgeable about anything related to nursing, health, animals, plants, and gardening. Diana was also something of the informal family historian, always knowing who-was-who, how everyone was related, and what was going on with everyone; anyone who had a question about the family would ask Diana. She was always involved in family celebrations and holidays, often bringing her homemade lemon meringue pies to holiday dinners. Diana lovingly attended to and cared for both of her parents during extended illnesses at the end of their lives.
Devoted daughter, loving sister, and beloved aunt, Diana, with her lighthearted, kind, and helpful manner, will be dearly missed.
Her parents, grandparents, and nephew (David Bulkley) are also buried in the same cemetery.
