Deceased was one of the early residents of Clay County-coming here in 1869 and taking up a homestead east of town which is now part of Evan Jones' farm. He resided here until 1875. He was a just and upright man, respected and esteemed by all who knew him. His remains were brought here for interment-the funeral taking place Wednesday forenoon. Mrs. Hubbard will make her home in this city for the present at least with her son Ackley."
