Mrs. Thomas Beierle, 81, a lifetime resident of Butler County, died Friday, Nov. 1, at the David City Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, Nov 4, at the David City Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Mohnkern officiating.
Music was provided by Mrs. Elvin Thomassen, organist, and Mrs. Herman Hansen, vocalist.
Relatives and friends attending the services were from York, Shelby, Rising City, Columbus Platte Center, Bellwood, Bruno, Cortland, Omaha, and the surrounding area.
Serving as pallbearers were Vern Beierle, Ronald Jacobs, George Cady, Frand Bock Jr., Harold Bock, and Joseph Bock. Burial was in the David City Cemetery.
Josephine Bock Beierle, daughter of Vincent and Mary Bock, was born in Butler County, July 21, 1882.
On Feb 12, 1901 she was married to Thomas Beierle and five daughters were born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. Beierle resided on the farm until 1943 when they retired and moved to their present home in David City. They observed their 62nd wedding anniversary last February.
Mrs. Beierle had been a member of Mary's Rebekah Lodge for many years and attended regularly as long her health permitted.
She is survived by her husband; her daughters, Mrs. Albert (Mamie) Casper of Albion, Mrs. Glen (Lillian) Sargent of David City, Mrs. Viola Boyers, at the home of her parents, and Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Scheidel and Mrs. Donald ( Bernice ) Pieters, both of Salem Oregon; nine grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Carrie Drawbridge of North Loop; and two brothers, Frank Bock of Bellwood and George Bock of Tacoma, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; four brothers;, and her son in law, Harry Boyers.
