Funeral services for Mrs. R. A. Reid were conducted Friday morning, Feb. 2, from St Luke's United Methodist Church with the Rev Michael Conner officiating. Mrs. Reid, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the Butler County Hospital. Jean Hansen vocalist was accompanied by Carol Fuxa organist. Pallbearers were Bud Zinnecker ,Harvey Armagost, James Hungate, Leo Aldrich, James Norton, and Louis Martin. Burial was in the David City Cemetery. Nevada F. Parriott, the daughter of Edgar and Minnie Parriott, was born April 2, 1900 at Brownvllle. She grew to womanhood In Peru and attended Peru State Teachers College. Following her graduation from college, she moved to David City where she taught first grade In the elementary school system. While teaching In David City she met Robert A (Dick) Reid and they were married on June 1, 1924. Mr. Reid owned and operated a bottling and distribution plant in David City and later Included ice cream manufacturing and a frozen food locker plant. Mrs. Reid often accompanied her husband on his travels about the area calling upon retail outlets which distributed the Ankle Deep products. She also was a member of Chapter BQ PEO and Daughters of the American Revolution and during her lifetime she belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Owls Club WSCS, United Methodist Women and other local organizations. Her home, as well as the homes of her friends, contain pieces of her needlework over the years. Mrs. Reid was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. She Is survived by her husband Dick, one sister Claire A. Hungate, of Lincoln and nieces and nephews.
