Floyd Rigney, 80, of Newcomb, Tn., died Sunday, January 14, at the Jellico Community Hospital. He was a retired coal miner and a member of Brick Plant Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fitchue and Ressie Broyles Rigney; two brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Essie Mildred Cummins Rigney of Newcomb; sons, James Freddie Rigney of Ga. And Floyd (Buck) Rigney of Jellico; daughters, Janet Sue Rigney Crass of Johnson City and Sandra Jean Rigney Kidd of Newcomb; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister Grace (Chip) Bowlin of Newcomb.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 15, at the Cox and Son Chapel with Rev. Jerry Yancey and Rev. Sim Thacker officiating. Internment was Tuesday, in the Douglas Cemetery. Cox and Son Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of Services.
