Mrs. Alma Westbury Utsey, 98 widow of Laurence Augustus Utsey, died July 30, 2006, at The Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg.
Mrs. Alma was born Feb. 25, 1908, near St. George a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny A. Westbury. She was a graduate of St. George Public Schools and an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Harleyville before her health failed. She was a member of Harido Chapter of Order of Eastern Star and was a charter member of Tuesday Afternoon Book Club. She was predeceased by a half sister, Reba W. Zeigler.
Surviving is her daughter, Margaret U. Shieder, Harleyville; granddaughters, Paula (Otey) Herman and Melissa (Gary) Jenkins, all of Santee; great-grandchildren, Kevin Herman, Los Angeles, Kimberly Herman, Jimmy Jenkins and Meredith Jenkins, all of Santee.
