Mr. Beam was born in Chester County, the son of the late Martin and Viola Beam. He was a retired employee of Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. and a World War II veteran.
Survivors are his son, Edmond Beam of Rock Hill; daughter, Mrs. Loretta Crump of Pineville; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
