COLLEGE PLACE - Agnes E. Everett, 88, of Milton-Freewater died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Regency at the Park in College Place. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Milton-Freewater.
Concluding services and interment will be in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Those wishing to pay their respects may call from 9 a.m. to noon, 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater.
Mrs. Everett was born Aug. 12, 1920, in Nolan to Carl and Ella Kurth Weinke. She grew up in Pilot Rock during the Depression. After graduating from high school, she worked her way through Victor's Beauty School in Walla Walla, and in 1942 was hired at Beauty Haven in Milton-Freewater. She married Robert E. "Bob" Everett in 1947 in Pendleton.
She later purchased the beauty shop and operated it for many years, celebrating 50 years of employment there in 1992. After selling the Beauty Haven, she worked as a hair stylist at Rae's Beauty Shop in Freewater.
Mrs. Everett is survived by sons Roger Everett of Milton-Freewater and Robbie Everett of Eugene; brothers Adolph Weinke and William Weinke, both of Pilot Rock; sister Esther Everett of Ellensburg, Wash.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Everett, in 2003.
