Georgia Anna Helm was born Jun 19, 1865 in a log cabin on the banks of the Cedar River, Muscatine County, Iowa, and died near Manilla, Jefferson Township, Shelby County, Iowa on Feb 24, 1932 at the age of 66.

She married William Boon Vennink on Nov 2, 1882 in Manning, Carrol County, Iowa. He was the son of Gerrit Hendrik Vennink and Wilhelmina Boon. He was born Mar 2, 1859 and died Oct 26, 1900 at the age of 41.

She married George Hutchinson on Mar 3, 1916. He was born Feb 21, 1859 and died Jan 27, 1931. His first wife was Alice Johnston, whom he married Jan 31, 1883. He had four children by this marriage: George Marion, Thomas Clarence, Mrs. Florence Anderson, and a son who died in infancy. Alice died Nov 15, 1912.

According to the records of Mrs. Carol Vennink, "being left a widow with a large family to rear, turned to practical nursing jobs to make ends meet. A very Pleasant but No-Nonsense Mother and Grandmother, she was possessed of considerable determination. Once when angered at the continual trespassing of a neighbor's horse and the refusal of her husband to do anything about it, she herded the intruders in the barn. There she tied them up, festooned them with cans, buckets, and anything else she could tie onto them and sent them on their frantic way. After that the neighbor kept them home."

Her obituary stated:

"Mrs. Geo. Hutchinson was born in Muscatine county, Jun 19, 1865, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Francis Kerr, west of Botna, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 5 days.

"At the age of sixteen she came to Crawford county. On Nov 2, 1882, she was united in marriage to Wm. Vennink at Manning. Nine children were born to this union. Those left to mourn the loss of their mother are John and Frances Kerr of near Manilla, Mrs. Luella Sutton of Harlan, Albert and William of Los Angeles, Mrs. Mary Storm of Long Island, N.Y., and two step-sons of Deloit.

"Besides the children she leaves 12 grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Ella Fletcher of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. Bertha Storm of Lone Tree, Mrs. Molly Dempster of Des Moines and Mrs. Lillie Hielce of Riverside, Calif., and one brother, W.D. Helm of Family, Mont., several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

"In October, 1900, Mr. Vennink was killed at Vail. The mother bravely went to work to keep her family together and helped in care of the sick and these are the devoted deeds which endeared her to all those who knew her.

"In her early life she joined the M. E. Church and remained a faithful member to her death.

"On Mar 3, 1916, she was united in marriage to Geo. Hutchinson of Deloit. For 15 years they enjoyed a loving companionship until Jan 27, 1931, when her home was once more broken up by the death of her husband. Since that time she has made her home with her daughters, Mrs. Kerr and Mrs. Sutton. Her death was due to heart trouble. She passed away Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Kerr.
