Death of J. J. Ward
//John J. Ward, an aged and highly respected resident of this community, died at his home about six miles northeast of this city at 6 o'clock Wednesday morning. He had been ill with complication of diseases for some time.
//Besides a widow, he is survived by eight children, four sons and four daughters, as follows: Mrs. M. D. L. Jones, Miss Lida Ward and Lee Ward who reside on the farm of the deceased; Mrs. Belle Linger, of Weston, Va.; Mrs. Florida Fultz, of Texas county, this state; Mrs. Rosa Ramey, of Oklahoma; Mrs. Sarah Weathers, of Stillwater, Okla., and John W. Ward of Sedalia.
//Mr. Ward was born near Weston, Virginia in 1835. In 1859 he was married to the wife who survives him. About twenty five years ago he came to this place from Virginia and located on the farm where he has since resided.
//He was a consistent Christian, having been a member of the Methodist church.
//The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. G. Welborn at the Methodist church this afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Lamonte cemetery.
