Acquilla Ward, well known to all our old residents, died on Saturday, April 18, at an advanced age. He resided near the Barbour-Upshur line, and was the father of Taylor Ward of Peel Tree, and Mrs. Perry Smith, and of the late Ira Ward. His second wife who was Miss Emma Duke, and some children by her survive him. The deceased was prominent among cattle men for more that half a century, and his familiar figure will be missed.
