Served with the 47th Regiment Indiana Volunteers, Co. I. He enlisted at Indianapolis, Indiana October 23, 1862 as a private. He was mustered in as a recruit on the 24th of October 1862, Indianapolis. He was transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps April 22 1864. He died in Post Hospital Burnside Barracks, Indianpolis, Indiana from disease contacted while in the service.
