John Miller married Joyce Schoenemann on May 18, 1979 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.

NORMANGEE — Services for John Joseph Miller, 66, of Normangee are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Normangee. Bros. Bill Lanigan, Vernon Powell and Jeff Gantz will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Mr. Miller died Sunday in Houston Hospice. He was born in Canton, Miss., and lived in Normangee since 1998. He was retired from the city of Houston and was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a Baptist and also attended the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Miller of Normangee; five stepdaughters and three sons-in-law, Debbie and Glen Hailey of Elm Mott, Sharon and Allen Dehnert of Dallas, Louise and Chuck Laux of Chandler, Ariz., Ramona James of Kyle and Winona Old of Dripping Springs; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030-1423. Published The Eagle May 20, 2003.
