AL BRODBECK DEAD; FUNERAL TOMORROW

Most of our citizens will be shocked to learn of the death, at his home in East Marseilles last evening, of W. Al Brodbeck. Mr. Brodbeck, who had been traveling for W.G. Killelea, representative of the Indianapolis Bridge Company, came home a week ago today sick with typhoid fever. A few days later pneumonia developed and he passed away last evening at 7 o'clock.
He leaves a wife, formerly Miss Ella Shaffer and three daughters, Lulu, Hazel and Emma, the eldest seventeen, the youngest, ten years of age.
The funeral will occur at the home on Union Street tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. The services will be in charge of the Odd Fellows, of which lodge and the Woodmen, he was a member.
Mr. Brodbeck has been a resident of Marseilles most of the time since early childhood, and is a son of Mrs. E. Brodbeck and brother of Arch, George and James Brodbeck, Mrs.Clauser, and Mrs.John Barber of this city and John Brodbeck of Peoria and Charles Brodbeck of Iowa and Mrs. Laura Wood of Colorado.
William Alfred Brodbeck was born in Rome, Peoria County, Ill., Feb.14, 1860 and came to Marseilles with his parents in 1869. On Jan.3rd, 1889, he was married to Miss Ella Shaffer, who with his three daughters, survives him.
He was respected by all who knew him, as an honest, industrious citizen, a kind husband and father, and dutiful son and brother.


One daughter, Lulu Annie Brodbeck was born to William Alfred and Harriet Nash Brodbeck. She married twice, to John Sherman McChesney and Paul Becker Brehm. Two daughters, Hazel Eliza and Laura Emma, were born to William Alfred and Ella Shaffer Brodbeck.
