Alfred Amiot, 83, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Riverview Hospital, Crookston, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN with Father Dave Super officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2002 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service and at the church for one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Alfred Amiot was born on January 7, 1919 in Gentilly, MN, the son of Francis and Elizabeth (Audette) Amiot. He attended rural school.

Alfred was united in marriage to Delia Marie LaPlante on June 7, 1938 at Red Lake Falls. The couple farmed near Red Lake Falls and purchased a farm near Gentilly in 1943, where they farmed until 1973 when they retired. Delia and Alfred moved into Crookston and spent winters in various places in the South. Alfred moved to Villa St. Vincent in July of 2000.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and carpentry. Alfred also liked to dance and travel all over the Unites and Canada.

Alfred is survived by his children: Albert (Dolores) Amiot of Pahrump, NV, Harold (Mary) Amiot of Minneapolis, MN, Janice (Melvin) Deitz of Minneapolis, MN, Donna (David) Ward of Raleigh, NC and Eddie (Vicki) Amiot of Walker, MN; one brother, Edgar Amiot of Red Lake Falls, MN; and one sister, Viola (Elmer) Ricard of Crookston, MN; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delia on April 6, 2002; his parents; brothers: William, Omer, David and Francis; and sister, Leah Normandin.
