Harold was an accomplished equestian and participated in competitive horse jumping events as a young man. Was in WWII in the Cavalry and retired from the Army as a Major. Injured in battle and received a Purple Heart. Harold was a graduate of VMI (Virginia Military Institute).
Was the subject (page 32) of the Chuck Bernstein book titled "On The Firing Line, 86 BlackHawk Divison." Harold died at the age of 93.
