Lillian Gold COHEN
Obituary

COHEN, Lillian Gold Passed away peacefully on May 20, 2011, at what had been her home for the past sixty years. Lillian graduated from UCLA in 1941 and taught briefly at the University Elementary School before settling into her role as a mother and wife of attorney Leo K. Gold. She was the founding president of the Law Guild of Beverly Hills and also active in the International Committee for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She was widowed in 1971 and remarried a few years later to Harold Cohen, who passed away in 2005. She was a shining light to all who knew her with interests that encompassed many diverse areas: music, travel, entertaining, cooking, and investing as well as baseball and card games. She was also well known for her orchid collection which she ultimately donated to Cal Tech. She loved life and lived it to the fullest for 94 years - a wonderful example to all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Leora Garner and Cynthia Parker, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private services were held last Sunday. For those wishing to honor her memory, a contribution to the International Committee of the LA Philharmonic, 151 S. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90010 would be appreciated.
