Funeral services for Helen Auger Harper, 92, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston with Rev. Kurt Auger officiating. Interment was Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Arkansas under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
Mrs. Harper passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, in Ruston following a brief illness. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and received her B.A. degree at Louisiana Tech University. Mrs. Harper was a teacher for over 32 years before retiring from the Eudora Special School District in Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart White Harper; her sister, Freddie Lockwood; and her brothers, Ernest E. Auger, Sr. and Dr. Huey Van Auger.
Mrs. Harper is survived by her daughters; Hilda Harper Grafton and husband Eddie of Ruston and Mary Lynn Harper Curry and husband Charles of Charlotte, N.C.; her grandsons, Scott Michael Grafton and wife Jennifer of Choudrant; Mark Harper Grafton of Monroe; and Alan Stuart Curry of Charlotte, N.C.; her granddaughter, Anna Claire Curry Schau and husband Christopher of Charlotte, NC; brother, John Alton Auger and wife Relda of Farmerville; sisters, Robbie Watson of Houston, Texas; Ann Ratomsky and husband Stan of Hilton Head, S.C.; LaFaye Keith of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Scott Grafton, Alan Curry, Mark Grafton, Christopher Schau, Bill Harper, and Steve Auger.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home or Temple Baptist Church Media Center in Ruston.
