Effie Mae Burton, 83, of 109 N. Vicksburg St., Marion, died at 5:05 p.m. Thursday at Marion Memorial Hospital. Before retiring, she worked in a state hospital in Chicago.
Mrs. Burton was born February 16, 1890, in Johnson County to James L. and Emmaline Albright Mohler. A son, Lowell Ballard, a sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Burton leaves three sisters, Esta Wells, Rt. 1, Creal Springs, Lula Smith, Herrin, and Hallie Howerton, Marion; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Mitchell Funeral Home, Marion. The Rev. George Ritter will officiate. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
