Matteson (Cindi), dear brother of Elizabeth Lindemann, Lawrence D. Matteson, and the late Isacc; dear grandfather of 10; great-grandfather of 13 and step grandfather of 7; dear uncle and cousin to many. Funeral service 11:30 a.m. Mon., at the Baue Funeral & Memorial Center Chapel. Interment St. Charles Memorial Gardens. William Richard Matteson

William Richard Matteson, 81, of O'Fallon, died Friday (July 26, 2002) at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.

Mr. Matteson was a retired crane operator for Wagner Electric Co., where he had worked for 37 years. He was a member of Silver Haired L egislature for senior citizens and Faith Baptist Church. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.

A funeral service was held Monday at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center in St. Charles. Burial was at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.

Among survivors are his wife, Lucille Matteson of O'Fallon; three sons, Elroy R. Matteson of Ferguson, Ronald L. Matteson of St. Charles and Scott A. Matteson of St. Peters; a daughter, Shirley Crews of O'Fallon; a sister, Elizabeth Lindemann of Troy; a brother, Lawrence D. Matteson of St. Peters; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association in care of Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, Mo. 63301.
