*Gardner Baird Frease was born March 31, 1885, Labette County, Kansas, son of George and Sophia (Beast) Frease. Married April 16, 1911 to Ruby M Oliphant and died May 16, 1958 at Mercy Hospital, Parsons, KS.

He lived near Mt Zion Church the latter part of his life. He was a life long resident of the Mortimer and Mt Zion Communities. He was born in the Mortimer Community, where he lived the early part of his life.

Gardner was president of the Harmony Grove Cemetery Association and devoted much of his time to the care and management of the cemetery.

Because of Gardner Frease, the story about this cemetery has been told, as it was he who remembered it best and knew every grave and plot by heart.
