Tupelo - Bonnie Franklin Hill, 88, passed away on May 15, 1998 at her home in Tupelo. Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 17, 1998 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. David Hamilton officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Born on Jan. 17, 1910 in Chickasaw County to the late Alvin Lafayette Franklin and the late Susie Hamilton Franklin, Hill was a member of West Point First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Harland Edward Hill, who passed away on June, 1960. She was also preceded in death by a son, Harrell Edward Hill Jr. and a daughter, Glenda Louise Hill. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Johnson of Verona; three sons, L F "Fate" Hill of LaGrange, Ky., Herbert Earl Hill of Athens, Ala., Roy Hugh Hill of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Vicksburg, Mrs. Enda Edwards of Michigan, Mrs. Annie Cobb of Connecticut; one brother, Herbert Franklin of Rolling Fork; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
