Mr. Ackerman was born September 28, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of the late Lauri Lauris Ackerman and the late Lucella Elizabeth Stanley Ackerman.
He was a retired residential painter.
Mr. Ackerman was preceded in death by two brothers, James Henry Ackerman and John Wesley Ackerman and two sisters, Frances Roberta Griffin and Linda Ilene Fennell.
