Mary Catherine was the seventh of eight children born to Elizabeth (Arter) and Joshua Jacob Snouffer. On February 13, 1857 she married Jesse Albert Seabrook, son of Barbara (Arnold) and Samuel Seabrook in Emmitsburg, MD. Together they had eight children: Francis Nelson, Mary Lydia, Mary R., Jesse R., Edward P., Moses J., Angelo V. and Euphemia A. In 1876 they followed Mary's brothers, Joshua and William, to Cedar Rapids, IA where they remained for the rest of their lives.
