Michael J. HANNAN was born 1877 near Durango in Dubuque Co. IA, married at Rickardsville IA, died at Dubuque IA, & is buried in Old St. Joseph's Cemetery at Five Points /Rickardsville IA.

He registered for the WWI Draft in Dubuque.CoIA from DurangoIA where he was farming and described as Tall with Medium build and Grey Eyes and Dark Hair.

He farmed(118 acres Center.Twp.) near Rickardsville until approximately 1896, when he moved to Dubuque.

He died at 8:30AM Friday 14MAY1926 at his residence, 580 Nevada St., in Dubuque. His funeral was held at Dubuque's Nativity Roman Catholic Parish of which he was a member.

He married Marie BURD(c1856IA- )

He must have been a spirited man, because he refused to give much information to the 1925 IA Census Enumerator. The enumerator recorded that his response was: "none of your business" - which is sad because one of the questions was the date and place of parent's marriage - he was the only living child of Michael HANNAN SR in 1925 and he may have been the last survivor with an answer to this mystery.
