Viola L. Cooper of Shawnee died Sunday at a local nursing home. She was 98. She was born July 30, 1902, in Gassville, Arkansas to John and Nancy Newton Loman.

She married Henry Ott in Gassville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death. She later married Earnie L. Cooper in January 1934 in Chandler. He preceded her in death July 10, 2000.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Minneha Freewill Baptist Church. She also taught Sunday School at Dale Baptist Church for many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two husbands, nine brothers and sisters and one son.

Surviving are one son, Jesse Ott of Shawnee; three daughters, Velma Harder of Shawnee and Martha Petty and Joyce Routh, both of Oklahoma City; twelve grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Faye Stanwood, Ethel Slate and Bessie Jordan, all of Shawnee and one brother, Ed Loman of McLoud.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jessie Wallis officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
