Served in the 3706th Army Air Forces Base Unit from March 1942 to July 1945

Donald was the second of three children. He married Charlotte Hall in 1927 and they had one son, Noel. He worked for the railroad as a baggage master. A few years after his son was born, Donald deserted his family.

While stationed at Camp Howze in Gainesville, Texas, his cousin, Glen Kline was reading the roster and saw Donald's name. Glen looked him up and asked him to contact his family. After Donald was mustered out of the Army, he did go back to Wilkes-Barre to visit family.

Gravesite Details

Donald's plot was washed away by the flood waters of the Susquehanna River as a result of Hurricane Agnes, June 23, 1972. His remains were never recovered/identified and may remain in the riverbed or may be reinterred at Memorial Shrine Cemetery.
