Emma Wunderlich was born 23 Jan 1870 in Shelby, Austin Co. TX, to Henry August and Friedericke (Treybig) Wunderlich. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church on 2 Sept. 1917. On 11 Aug. 1891 in Shelby, she married Heinrich Frederick Adolph Schroeder, called Adolph for short. Adolph was born in Hannover, Germany to Heinrich Nicolaus and Johanna Charlotte Dorathea (Bode) Schroeder.

The Adolph Schroeder family, who were farmers, made their first home at Wied in Lavaca Co., TX where nine children were born to them. Otto George was born 27 Aug. 1892 and married Hertha Elizabeth Audilet. Ernastina Friedericke Dorathea was born 15 June 1895 and married Caesar Martin Sasse. Arnold Emil was born 20 Sept. 1896 and married Elizabeth Peters. Wilhelm Carl Adolph was born 16 Feb. 1898 and married Anna Ella Kimmel. Leona was born 26 Dec. 1900 and married Fritz W. Peters. Hulda Elizabeth was born 11 Mar. 1902 and married Robert August Spill. Edwin Otto was born 12 Nov. 1904 and married Ella Lydia Minnie Kruse. Emma Hulda was born 16 Mar. 1909 and married Alfred Clarence Wessels. Anita was born 30 Sept. 1910 and married Rudolf Richard Lippke.

Emma (Wunderlich) Schroeder died 19 Feb. 1934 in Yorktown, DeWitt Co., TX. Her obituary in the Yorktown News describes her as "a good woman, a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a kind neighbor." Adolph Schroeder died 20 July 1946 in the Gruenau Community near Yorktown. Both are buried in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Yorktown.
