A native of Winn, Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church. She had lived her entire life in this parish.
Survivors include her husband, L. R. Simmons, Joyce; four sons, Homer and Oscar, Joyce; Morris, Ruston; J. V., Dallas; five daughters, Mrs. Dewey Thornton, Monroe; Mrs. John Brister, Sr., Joyce; Mrs. E. E. Prince, Leesville; Mrs. O. B. Martin, Robstown, Texas; Mrs. Aaron Creel, Joyce; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, M. J. Adams and C. E. Adams, both of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Stella Gates, Oak Grove.
