OKOLONA Lorene Griffin McBrayer, 80, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Chickasaw County to Mayo and Myrtie Phrett Griffin. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph "Red" McBrayer, on Nov. 28, 1994.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Okolona Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Randall Lewman officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Chickasaw County. Lee Memorial/Okolona Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Kenny McBrayer of Okolona; one grandson, Jared McBrayer of Amory; one sister, Betty Huffstatler of Ecru; one brother, Bunk Griffin of Houston; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charlie, Sammy, Bill, David and Chuck Huffstatler, and Chad Hill.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Okolona Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
