Catherine was born on March 8, 1921 in Salt Lake City, UT to Harley and Erma Mildred Seager Bedeger. She married Archie Charles Bess in 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Catherine was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities. She served a mission in San Diego, CA, and was a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple.
She is survived by her children, Ken (Margaret), Archie (Letty), Kaylene Lopez, Jerry (Winora), Ron, and Karen Everill, 30 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, her sisters Mary Pearson, Pauline (Don) Stalcup and Joy (Tom) Thomson. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great grandchild, a sister, six nephews and two nieces.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), where friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
