Erma Mary Armstrong died Sunday in Oklahoma City. She was 83. Mrs. Armstrong was born March 3, 1917, in Perkins to Preston Harrison and Carrie May Cowger Jacks.

On June 1, 1935, she married Earl Armstrong in Tryon. They lived in the Wellston area where they farmed for many years. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1996.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Wellston.

Survivors include two daughters, Lola Mae Casey of Wellston and Sheila Cleveland of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Zella Mae of North Carolina and Christina of Guthrie; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son, Wayne, and two brothers.

Visitation will be until noon today at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Wellston. Services will be 2:00 p.m. today at Assembly of God Church, Wellston, with the Rev. Dewayne Settle. Burial will be in Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.
