A native of Henderson County, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1931. She attended Deaverview Baptist Church and along with her husband formerly owned and operated the Cedar Hill Green Houses.
Mrs. Hyatt was a daughter of the late Noah and Belva Mae Norman McCrary and the wife of William Nelson Hyatt , who died Nov. 28, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her sons, William Ray "Billy" Hyatt and Charles Edwin Hyatt .
Surviving are her daughter, Daris May Fore of Asheville seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren sisters, Carrie Clark of East Flat Rock and Maxine Roach of Fernandino, Fla. and a brother, Lee McCrary of East Flat Rock.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Sprinkle and Earl Moseley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
