Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Lloyd J. Gautreaux, age 84, who passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 3:55 p.m. at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate at the services.
Lloyd was a native of Duson and a resident of Scott for most of his life. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after thirty-four years of service. Lloyd was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Air force. He was also a member of The American Legion and Krewe of Zeus dancing club.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda H. Gautreaux of Scott; two sons; two daughters; one stepson; two stepdaughters; two sisters; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulisse Gautreaux and his mother, the former Edith Leger; one son; and nine siblings.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home by Norma Hargroder.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Roland Breaux, Shelby Lafitte, George Gregory, Leo Hargroder, Larry Hargroder and Ballard Credeur.
