Chisum Widow Dies at Heath
Husband Succumbed Working on REA Project near Elba in October.
Mrs. Agnes Jones Chisum, 54, died early Sunday, January 20, at her home in Heath. Mrs. Chisum, the mother of Mrs. Sybil Barton, an office employee at Columbia General Hospital and Raymond Chisum, Opp High School teacher who resides in Andalusia, had been in declining health recently. However, her condition was improved and death was unexpected. Mrs. Chisum was the widow of Lester Chisum, who suffered a heart attack and died suddenly while working on a REA project near Elba on Oct. 16, 1962. Mrs. Chisum was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Jones of the Coldwater Community. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Bethany Baptist Church in Heath, with Rev. D.E. Parsons, pastor, and Rev. J.M. Fuqua officiating
