Lee H. Jenkins

Lee H. Jenkins, 92, formerly of rural McCune, died at 5:15 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2008, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons where he had resided the past two years.
He was born November 29, 1916, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Lyman E. and Maggie P. (Baker) Jenkins. In 1929, as a young boy, he moved with his family to Kansas, and lived in Salina where he attended school. In the late 1930's, he moved to this area where he had lived since.

For a time, he worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant and also for Wilson Brothers Sawmill. He was a farmer and stockman.

SURVIVORS: One Sister – Hazel Thiessen Parsons, KS Two Nephews – Kenneth Lunday Parsons, KS Wayne Lunday Erie, KS Three Nieces – Delores Zerlin Mena, AR Janice Giger Parsons, KS Marjorie Southard Emmett, ID

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, in Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Tuesday.

Uncle Lee was a lover of old cars & pickups driving one or the other. He had the most beautiful Chevy pickup a Royal Blue color when I was young... The whole truck shined including the engine. I believe it was a 1937 but am not sure. He lived with grandmother till her death them sharing the farming work together.
