Mary Francis Baker, daughter of G. W. and Polly Ann Jennings, was born September 28, 1862, departed this life April 29, 1934, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Aly, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 1 day.

She was united to Henry N. Baker, Nov. 16, 1882. To this union six children were born, two dying in infancy; the four surviving are: Mrs. W. T. Bradley, Simpson; Mrs. Oscar Aly, Golconda; Mrs. Clyde Bruce, Mounds; Mrs. Harlow Austin, Golconda. Also 10 grandchildren, besides a sister and brother, George Jennings, of Golconda, Inda Blevins, of Metropolis.

She leaves the following half-sisters and brothers, Epsa Schuchardt, Grace Ragan, Bessie Deaton, Siota Jackson, Jackson, Oliver, Sam, Matthias, Ray and Tom Jennings.

She professed faith in Christ at an early age and united with the Missionary Church at Mt. Zion where she remained a faithful member until death.

She was a devoted wife and mother, ever since her husband’s death, 3 years ago, she bore her loneliness and suffering with patience and faith even to the end.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion April 30, by Rev. J. C. Booten and Albert Cole
