Vorus was the son of William Chambers and Rebecca Stevenson , both born in Ohio.
He married about 1894 to Abbie L. Caldwell.
He appears in the 1900 through 1940 censuses of Lick Township, Jackson County, Ohio. He was a farm laborer in 1900, a teamster hauling coal in 1910, and a farmer in 1920 and 1930.
