The Register, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, October 6, 1875

MRS. MARTHA ELMIRA O'DONNELL

Mrs. Martha Elmira O'Donnell, well known resident of Duncansville and lifelong resident of Blair County, died yesterday afternoon at 12:35 o'clock of complications after a year's illness. She was born at Duncansville on August 5, 1857, a daughter of Solomon and Elizabeth Langham, pioneer residents of that section. With the exception of a number of years that she resided in Altoona, she lived at Duncansville and vicinity all her life.

She was twice married, her first husband being Joseph L. Yon of Duncansville with whom she was united in marriage on September 28, 1875, by Rev. D. L. Ryder, pastor of the Hollidaysburg Lutheran church. Some years after his death she became the wife of William C. O'Donnell of Altoona, this ceremony taking place on October 27, 1895, at Jersey City, NJ, with Rev. John Krantz Jr., then pastor of Trinity Methodist church, that city, officiating. Mr. O'Donnell has been deceased for many years.

She is survived by one son, Charles Yon, who resides at Coraopolis, PA; two brothers, David Langham of Hollidaysburg and Crist Langham, whose present address is unknown; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Harlin, with whom she made her home at 1417 Fourth avenue, Duncansville, and two grandsons. She was for many years a member of the Duncansville Lutheran church.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home at 1417 Fourth avenue, Duncansville, conducted by her pastor, Rev. G. B. Harman. Interment will be made in the Carson Valley cemetery.
